TAIPEI, TAIWAN (April 19, 2011)-Acer Inc. Board of Directors approved the candidacy of Jim WONG as new President Corporate, with immediate effect. Wong was previously in the positions of the corporate senior Vice President and President of IT products group (ITGO). Together with Chairman and CEO, j.t. Wang, they take the company forward, to embrace new challenges and opportunities in the new age of ICT.
Acer Chairman and CEO, j.t. Wang, States, "for the last ten years Jim Acer's global IT operations, including product development and logistics led." During this time, he has done shown outstanding leadership and important for the company. He worked closely with our regional operations to thoroughly understand, the needs of our marketing and channels on the front end operations. "Therefore we consider Jim as a qualified candidate to step into the role of the Acer corporate President."
Wang further, "the presidential nomination must meet requirements for the future development of the company and show ability to lead the company forward." Wong appeared in 1986, with experience in sales, product marketing, product development, with a sharp understanding of ODM supplier operation and the company Acer brand. In 2001 when he free of charge from the ITGO took over, he was one of the core members of Acer's top management team. In 2005, he was promoted to the senior corporate Vice President.
Born in 1958, Wong has a Bachelor's degree, mathematics from Soochow University in Taiwan, and an MBA from Emory University, Georgia, United States. In 1999 he received award of excellence Taiwan's 17th annual management.

Announces organizational changes in the back-end product line separating operations into two independent entities: business group (touch BG) and PC touch global operations (PCGO) lead by new Acer corporate President, Jim WONG and Campbell Kan, former VP of smart handheld business unit, respectively. Acer announces new features for medium and long-term planning and operation of business analysis in.
Acer was reorganized the former IT product of global operations in two independent entities and thus substantial progress in the field of mobile devices. The newly founded touch BG includes former Tablet PC and Smartphone teams, while the PCGO of the most important product lines is PC.
The touch-BG will be led by new Acer corporate President, Jim WONG, and President of eTEN information systems, Simon Hwang, at the same time Vice President of touch BG.

New functions
Acer created three new features for competitive development of the company as necessary, they are: Chief Marketing Office (CMO) - responsible for brand position and marketing strategy. Chief Technology Office (CTO) - responsible for mid long term planning and integration of technologies; and operation analysis Office (OOo) - to the investigation and analysis of enterprise business models and finances.
