KORG MONOTRIBE HAS ANALOG SYNTHESIZER & DRUMS

New unit combines Monotron analog synthesis with Electribe-style Programmierung-

MUSIC fair, FRANKFURT, Germany, April 6, 2011 - for a year, Korg (Hall 3.0, stand B62 [main State] / stand A71 [demo soundproof room]) back in the world of analog synthesis with their palm-sized Monotron popular analogue Ribbon synthesizer. Today, Korg takes the analog banner with the Ribbon analog console Monotribe again. In addition to analog synthesis combines Monotribe, intuitive ease of use and a three-part discrete analog group, plus the attractiveness of the Korg Electribe-style pattern sequencing. With built-in speakers and battery power, Monotribe is fully self-contained and highly mobile.

In addition to the analog synthesizer voice, the Monotribe offers a three-part rhythm section (bass drum, snare and hi-hat) is of discrete analog circuits. These key elements of sounds in a generation of analog beat making were and are still in demand. Korg's popular Electribe step key further lives interface in Monotribe with a dedicated button for each of the eight steps. This allows editing of the drum parts, as well as any synth part to in real time, practical step sequence on the Ribbon played keyboard.

Edit active step can remove users or you put the steps short loop-like effects or off-beat pattern create the in and out of the complex rhythms website. Flux mode allows the creation of sequenced synthesizer parts that are not rigidly bound to step grid.

The Ribbon controller keyboard offers three selectable play modes/areas. The chromatic mode (key) is ideal for melodies and bass lines, with the Ribbon, stepping up from note to note play keyboard. Users can switch to the continuous mode (narrow) for smooth sliding between notes, just like in the Monotron. Also, the width of the continuous mode is (wide) with a sixfold pitch range for dramatic and far-reaching effects. In addition the gate time button will give time the gate are sequenced, how to play the Ribbon controller keyboard.

The Monotribe uses classic analogue components, including the same VCF (voltage controlled filter) found circuitry on Korg's classic MS-10 and MS-20 analog semi-patchable synthesizer. With the audio input filter can be improved by by section any audio source. The oscillator (VCO) offers a choice of sawtooth, triangle and square wave. White noise the oscillator signal in any amount can be mixed. The octave selection includes a wide range from deep bass to penetrate lead lines. The EC (envelope generator) offers three presets shapes. The LFO (low frequency oscillator) can be sent to the VCO or the VCF, creating dynamic effects. The range switch selects slowly or quickly enough modulation. Change the LFO mode on the 1-shot setting the LFO may behave like a second envelope generator.

In contrast to analog synthesizer from yesterday, that susceptible to pitch drift were, provides the Monotribe auto-tuning circuit stable chromatic playability, to keep it in line. No warm-up time, no sensitivity to temperature changes - only the large sound of analog VCO.

The Monotribe offers both sync in sync out Sockets, enabling multiple Monotribe units to play and work together. Pulses can cause also the sync input, audio line level, so that the Monotribe for example to a DAW system can be synchronized.

Light, compact and portable, Monotribe is ideal for use on d-go. Equipped with a built-in speaker and operated with six AA batteries, it is completely self-contained.

The Monotron will be announced available early summer 2011 with prices in the near future. For more information, please visit www.korg.com.
